And now back to my regularly scheduled knitting

I started working on the sleeves for Blaze on the weekend. It's been sitting in my knitting basket for quite a while. I'm using Inca Gold Marra (70% Fine Merino, 30% Baby Alpaca). It's super soft and is going to be really warm when it's finished.

Here's a closeup of the stitch pattern:

And why did I pick this weekend to start working on it again, you ask? Well, I (FINALLY!) finished the Odessa hats. The hats and sleeves for the sweater use the same size needles, so I needed to finish the hats first (since they are for Christmas).

That's all for now. Someone is getting jealous that I am using his favorite chair for the photos:

Odessa!

I've been working on some Odessa hats for Christmas presents in Cascade Cloud 9 (50% Merino, 50% Angora). The first hat flew off the needles:

The second one was a little slower, but I finished it a few days after I started:

I started the third hat a few weeks ago. It is sitting somewhere near the bottom of my knitting bag. I swear, third hat syndrome is much much worse that second sock syndrome.

What I've been doing instead of blogging:

I went to the Festive Dinner held by these people at this place. They had pot pie and sweet potatoes and cranberry sauce on the menu. And, pumpkin pie for dessert- very yummy!

I also went to see the Parade of Lights on Saturday Night. This was my view for much of the parade:

I did get some pictures of some of the floats though:

Pete's Frootiques' Float

Mr. MacPass & the Bridge Commission Float

The Crime Stoppers had the Grinch locked up, and the Queen even showed up:

And of course, the big guy:

Apparently, I have enough pictures in this post- blogger won't let me upload any more. I'll have to save the rest for another time.

There's a new blog in town!

I have finally decided to jump on the blogging bandwagon. Since it is getting close to my bedtime, I am going to keep this short and sweet. But before I go, I would like to intoduce Felix the Wondercat:

He's pretty tuckered out after a long battle with the green mousie (It is hard work ridding the world of such evils as knitted mice, but he does his best).

Stay tuned- someday I might write a post that is longer than three lines, or maybe even post a WIP or FO*. Bye for now!

* Ok. My track record in this department is not that great- but crazier things have happened. For instance..........., ummm, well, you're just going to have to take my word for it.
